RÉKA PETI-PETERDI LIVES IN PASADENA, CALIFORNIA, IN THE LOS ANGELES AREA. SHE BEGAN TAKING PICTURES WHILE ATTENDING UNIVERSITY OF PÉCS, WHERE SHE RECEIVED A MASTER’S DEGREE IN COMMUNICATION AND FRENCH. HER INTEREST IN PHOTOGRAPHY BEGAN TO GROW AFTER TAKING AN ELECTIVE CLASS IN BLACK & WHITE PHOTOGRAPHY AND RECEIVING HER VERY FIRST CAMERA.
After teaching French for several years, a twist of fate led Réka to an online travel and photography company, where she started to work as a travel photographer. Known for her hard work, creative skills she has worked with several publishers and travel magazines.
Currently, she has six published books to her credit, including: Magyar nyár, magyar varázs (2014), Great journeys in California (2011), Colors of Hungary, (2012) Charming Tuscany (2011) and New Mexico, Colors of the fall, (2010), Colorful California (2012), Paris, you are always in my heart (2011).
Her total obsession with photography has taken her on journeys to many marvelous countries throughout the world. She enjoys shooting a great variety of subjects. Her favorite themes are nature, portraits and her beloved travel destinations, California and Hungary.
Réka is an award winning photographer. In May 2013, she won the Zsolnay Cultural Award in her native hometown, Pécs. Several calendars and book feature her work. In 2015, the Nemzet Naptára features several of her colorful photos.
